The 12 years I worked at Nike, the golf group transformed from a small separate business entity to a thriving 900 million annual powerhouse. During my time I managed many facets of the business; design, brand, innovation and concept creation. I had a close connection with the athletes and built a level of trust by featuring their insights to create a global product line to change the landscape of the industry.

The modern athlete

Our goal focused on designing modern uniforms engineered to perform. This is the only sport in the Nike portfolio that handles such extreme weather changes. Rounds of golf last 4-6 hours and the garments must be ready to handle changes in heat, humidity, rain, wind and whatever mother nature has planned for the day. Looking your best in these climates posed a challenge we mastered.

Textures drove our holistic approach to design. Our apparel, equipment & footwear shared these design ques to drive visual connections to our seasonal line.
